Just singing in the rain, I'm singing in the rain, still singing in the rain, singing in the rain.
All it ever does is rain....

Wednesday 29 July 2009

Hey everyone, I am sending an invitation to all of you to take part in my fun Giveaway.
You must be quick though as it ends Friday 31st July.
I will tell you what it is, they are the cutest baby hats you have ever seen. They come in pink, white and lemmon, only one style for little boys at the moment. All you have to do is leave a comment on my other blog Handmade in Scotland by Helen.
Simply chose your colour and style by stating the code and colour. That's how easy it is. Your baby will look gorgeous whatever one you chose. Go on give it a try, it could be You.

They have fire in them and run on steam.

I can remember going to the Fairground when I was little and seeing traction engines like this driving generators to power the rides. They were all colourfully painted with lights all over them. It was a treat just to watch them and all the moving parts and the steam and smoke belching from them.

Arbroath extraviganza.

There is a man standing in the middle of the ball with the motorbikes, you can just see his head. He is standing there giving a running commentary.

flowers from a flower.

What a beautiful surprise. Sitting chatting with my visiting teachers yesterday morning when the "postie" chapped on the door and handed me a box. I couldn't open it quick enough. Of course I persevered and there was a box full of sunshine. thank you Emma Xx.

Tuesday 7 July 2009

Life can be so sweet.

This takes me way back to my childhood, when the sweetie shop windows all looked like this. We would stand for ages trying to decide which one to buy. The sweets were much cheaperthen and they seemed to last forever, all they cost was sixpence for 4 ounces. Boy what happened to those sweeties.

poppies

what can I say..... I love poppies. When I was little I thought poppies only came in deep red. Like in Flanders Fields.

Summertime.

Sitting in the garden enjoying the warmth of the Summer sun, surrounded by pretty flowers. Making a start on a crotched baby blanket fo no-one in particular.
For the gipsy feet. Or is it just dad putting his foot in it?
Like I said, I thought poppies only came in deep red. Then I saw these pretty pikish-lilac ones which grew from a handful of pods which Robert picked up on his travels. They only last a day or two, but they are so pretty. I am just filled with awe when they blossom. How clever Heavenly Father is.

Helping Hands Day

Helping hands day. Montrose Ward took part in "Rhododendron Bashing" at Camperdown Park just outside Dundee. The bushes were totally out of control and so were in need of some serious work to remove and chop back as far as possible. Phew, it was hard work. But we did a great job.

Thursday 11 June 2009

This was taken at the Montrose Music festival a few weeks ago. The old lady in the wheelchair is Nora Price. Nora is housebound and for a treat they hired a specially adapted bus to go out for the day Robert was the driver. Her home help was singing at the festival. She had a great day out.

Megatron

Transformer Megatron and a smile to melt your heart.

"Sunshine on a rainy day"

Happy birthday Cambie. Taken in school on the 20th April.
Cameron's taste in toys and playthings have changed over the years and it has been a joy to see this. First it was Thomas the Tank. I think all little boys love him. Then he loved bubbles and he could never have too many bubble machines. We would fill the back garden with these beautiful rainbow coloured soapy balls and he would jump and bounce trying to burst them. Now he is six and tells me he is too big for Thomas because that's for babies. At six he likes Transformers and Ben 10, Light Sabres and Power Rangers, anything to do with dinosaurs and space. You are amazing Cameron and if all little boys were like you what a beautiful world this would be. You are my "Sunshine On A Rainy Day"

Sunday 22 March 2009

Here are a few of my favourite things.

Here are my new additions to "Tales from the nest". I hope you enjoy them.
Spring is such an amazing time of the year. Everthing is new and fresh, days are longer, warmer and brighter. People smile more and are generally more cheerful.
Robert and I have had such fun going out and about to gather these pictures and wanted to share them all with you.
I am so grateful that I have been blessed to live in such a stunning  part of the world. Glad that I am free to enjoy the many wonders of the seasons. I love spring best because it inspires in me to have  greater hope that all will be well.

I have a family here on earth.

Meet my little Willow Tree friends. Actually they are my little minature family. Well no, they are not mine. My once minature family are all big now. They are actually Beki's and Dave's children. Which makes me "Their Granny". Anyone who has grandchildren will know what I mean The little boy with the golden heart is Cambie because he really has a golden heart. The little babies at the front are Daisy and Willow, precious little twin girls. The little man behind is Ozzy, he holds hope high. the others are gifts and I love them all. Though the love I have for the real the real little people and the big ones too, is more than can ever be measured.
